Cinnamon Maple Buttermilk Syrup
May 21, 2013
If you haven't figured it out by now, breakfast is one of my favorite meals and I love to eat delicious things for breakfast. My family has been making "Grandma Flanary's Buttermilk Syrup" for forever now. I love buttermilk syrup but I also LOVE maple. So I thought, why can't I have both? That's when this recipe was born! You get the bubbly goodness of buttermilk syrup, yet the delectable simplicity of the maple, and then cinnamon added to top it all off!
Cinnamon Maple Buttermilk Syrup
1 1/2 cubes butter
1/8 cup water
1 cup buttermilk
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp mapleine
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 Tbls corn syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan.
2. Add the water and buttermilk until warmed.
3. Stir in sugar until smooth.
4. Stir in mapleine, vanilla, corn syrup, and cinnamon.
5. Bring to a boil.
6. Remove from heat, and add baking soda. It will get all bubbly and fun.
Ladle over your french toast, pancakes, waffles, etc. and enjoy the frothy goodness!
What do you love to top your french toast, pancakes, and waffles with?
